Written Client Exit Interviews
Below, you will find exit interviews from placed clients. What should become clear in all of these is that our professional team of campaign directors, researchers, Web Folio (TM) and resume writers, recruiters and candidate marketing personnel work quickly and well to see that our executives' search campaigns are short and financially meaningful. Call a member of our executive team if you would like to learn more.
Here are the actual words from one of Stewart, Cooper & Coon's clients about their experiences with us. These comments were in response to our survey we provide each placed candidate.
Michael G. - President, CEO- $225,000 - Placement Time - 6 months
The time spent in Phoenix was outstanding – I really got a lot out of the practice interviews, and even went through a behavioral interview for this position.
Strategic positioning was the most difficult, time consuming and ultimately the best part of your entire process. Remember where we started positioning me positioned for a IT or Tech company job. During the process, I uncovered my real desire to run something. During that process, I moved to wanting to find a company in the $20 million size range where I could be COO or President. And in fact, I am President of a $20 million company today and the process of running the company feels very right for me.
I am a very satisfied customer and you may use me for a reference going forward. I am also interested in the post-placement services you offer. I am committed to continuing my network building and keeping myself ready to launch a new campaign should the need arise.

Charles "Chuck" R. - VP Operations - $142,000 - Placement Time - 4 months
1. Did your expectations match the program delivered?
I expected to successfully target and secure a new position in New York City after relocating here from London last autumn. From commencement with the program to my acceptance of a new position was exactly four months. To say the very least, the program matched my expectations completely. I secured a good position with the right company, providing the appropriate compensation package - all within my expected time frame.
2. Administration... helpful, comprehensive? Did we move your campaign forward in a timely fashion, introductions professionally done, etc?
Campaign moved forward at a quick pace, which is what I had asked for. Introductions were professional and the trip to Phoenix was outstanding! Your staff did a good job of ensuring that I always had access to the areas I needed, i.e. Hoovers, company searches, etc.
I received two calls from recruiters, but both were for positions located outside of the area in which I was targeting. I got a call from a HR VP from a company that offered me a job in which I turned down. The position I secured was a joint effort between my self and SC&C Senior Management and the candidate marketing specialists working on my behalf. Since accepting this position, I have received yet another call from a headhunter on the West Coast impressed with my resume and webfolio!
5. Please talk about the value we bring to your career.
I am very satisfied with SC&C. I feel that I would not be walking into my new position on Monday morning had it not been for SC&C!
6. Post employment access to the system...how do you plan to take advantage of our ongoing services?
Through SC&C I shall continue to update my resume, Webfolio & value statements. I plan to bounce ideas off of my Campaign Director from time to time and, thus laying out the path for eventual promotion and keeping me on-track with my five - and ten - year goals.
7. Other suggestions: Any compliments, critiques and comments?
Keep up the good work and remember that each and every candidate that comes your way will be looking for something different. For many, it will be higher status and income. While those were important for me, the most important was a good fit, or as Fred Coon would say "The Happy Factor," working for a company that matched my values and direction. Something that you cannot put a $$ value on...
Thanks to all for making this possible!
Chuck
Dan S. - VP of IT division -Chicago-based company - $125,000 negotiated salary
The numbered questions below come from our exit interview with each client.
"Here are my responses to the questionnaire you sent me. Please consider me a big fan of SC&C. In the future if you have a client looking for a recommendation from a former client, I'd be more than happy to talk to them."
1. Selling in ... did your expectations match the program delivered?
The program exceeded my expectations. I was initially looking for assistance with my resume. The Webfolio idea I found quite appealing. The candidate marketing campaign appeared to be a novel approach that I was excited about. Beyond that, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I did know I'd be required to put in a substantial effort to complete the tasks assigned to me. Working with SC&C on the inputs to my resume and Webfolio was far more challenging then I ever imagined. In the end, I was really excited because I felt we left nothing on the table. My homework was done. The share stories, my resume and Webfolio all looked fantastic!
2. Administration ... helpful, comprehensive? Did we get you going in a timely fashion, introductions professionally done?
I mentioned to Susan (Dan's Campaign Director) during one of our conversations how SC&C reminded me of Michael Gerber's book, The E Myth Revisited. I'd put this book on anyone's recommended reading list. The E Myth describes the components of a really well-run, customer-focused company. Throughout my relationship with SC&C, I thought of the E Myth frequently, because I felt that SC&C optimized the E Myth philosophies. I was constantly impressed with the professionalism of the staff, and just as importantly I felt that I was dealing with a highly motivated, experienced team. Not only was the team great, but the web site was also a valuable tool allowing me access to the status of my campaign so I constantly knew exactly where things stood. Bottom line, I was in the best of hands.
3. Campaign director and staff brought in to assist me helpful?
As indicated above, I always felt I was dealing with professionals who were subject matter experts in their various areas. Everyone I dealt with was first rate.
4. What areas stand out? Resume, Webfolio, targeting, preparations, value proposition, researching targets, bridging to the campaign specialist, the calling phase.
The resume looks great. I was happy with what I had before working with SC&C but I really feel the document was improved through our combined efforts. Everyone that has seen the Webfolio has been blown away. This has really been an asset to my marketing material. I do believe the area that stands out the most is the work I was required to do on my own and with Susan's help in preparation for the resume rewrite, the share stories and the Webfolio. Not only did it force me to take a long hard look at my career, it also gave me some insight on what I wanted to do going forward and what changes I needed to make.
Having access to your extensive and varied databases was also a big plus for me.
5. What was the number of positions located and sources? Was this selection on target for you?
Through the direct efforts of SC&C I received eight calls from recruiters, one of which led to an interview and the job offer I accepted.
Please talk about the value for your investment?
I was interested in working with SC&C to get my resume rewritten, and the Webfolio created. I felt that the candidate marketing campaign and job boards would compliment the work I was already doing on my own. The price of the service was worth every penny because the resume & Webfolio coupled with the job board I was placed on put me in direct contact with the firm that ended up hiring me. I can say with 100% certainty that I wouldn't have this opportunity if it weren't for SC&C's efforts.
7.Post employment access to the system ... how do you plan to take advantage of SC&C's ongoing client services?
"I'm quite interested in working further with SC&C as I start my new career. I'd like to keep my resume, Webfolio, and SHARE stories updated with information pertaining to my new position. I'd also like to look into possibly using someone at SC&C as a career coach to help me maximize my career potential going forward.
Thanks again for everything."
